Seems like a step down to me.

People in So. Fl. are not near as interested in Dolphins as people in Alabama are interested in the Tide. Plus you have to live in So. Fl.

If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.

good luck Izzy

I don’t see this as a step down, especially if they are paying him more money. I don’t think living in so. FL would be all that bad, other than maybe the cost of living. The Miami fan base is NO WHERE near as rabid as BAMA but I would imagine it’s still a decent following. I personally was a fan of Izzy while he was on the beat in T Town an wish him well.

So. FL is a zoo.

From about Ft. Lauderdale south you have too many people living on not enough land. There is night life for sure, and the beach, but you will not see the area listed as one of ten best places to live in America.

As far as money, that probably is it. I’m not really that familiar with the Ft. Lauderdale paper but it is not the Miami Herald. Still, I’m sure it is a good paper making a lot of money. However, if your goal is readership can’t see you having as many as in Alabama.

And, if your goal is to raise kids…and I think he has a kid…no way would I prefer to raise said child in Ft. Lauderdale over T-Town.

Just saying, if you make your work decisions based on money you usually end up regretting it.

If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.

age difference

I’m in my late 20’s an just guessing I would say that you are in your 50’s no offense if if you’re younger. But at this point in my life if someone offered me more money than I’m currently making to move to south FL I think I would take it. I’ve been chasing a dollar for quite some time now, notice where I’m currently living. With that being said I have no kids no wife just a GF. If I did have either of those I “might” would reconsider. I think this makes me sound a lil shallow.

I've been living in south Florida for 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Granted, I’m in northern Palm Beach County, and I wouldn’t want to live in Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) or Dade. But many people that work in Lauderdale live in southern Palm Beach County (Delray Beach and Boca Raton).

Also, I’d have to look up numbers, but I imagine the Sun-Sentinel is about the same size as the Herald. FYI, that’s the paper that the Marley & Me guy wrote for.

God bless our Dark Lord.

Wikipedia says that the Herald has daily circulation of 240k

and the Sun-Sentinel has 225k. So they’re almost the same. The Sun-Sentinel’s Sunday circulation is actually a little higher than the Herald’s.

God bless our Dark Lord.

I love our Tide fans,

but some people might say that getting away from the craziness is a bad thing. And south Florida is a bigger market than central Alabama, so there’s that.

God bless our Dark Lord.

who will camp out with Scarbinsky at Ttown menswear now?

It was a woman who drove me to drink and I never got a chance to thank her.

Do you really think they are going to hire a new beat-writer?

With the industry the way it is, i wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t just make Kausler do it all by himself.

I think you’ve identified one of the relatively few replacements who could be considered a downgrade.
