This particular FanPost is not directly related to Alabama football, but it's kind of slow this time of year. Also, this FanPost is directly related to one of the links in the latest Jumbo Package. Primarily, I just wanted to do a poll, and this is the only way I know how.
Our Beloved Nicktator has now won two National Championships in his five years at Alabama. Urban Meyer won two National Championships in his six years at Florida. Coach Meyer certainly appeared to be an elite coach, and had the Gators playing at a level they hadn't seen since Spurrier, if ever.
As such, it surprised the hell out of me to read the Urban Meyer article referenced in the most recent Jumbo Package. In summary, it indicates that Urban Meyer applied different rules to his best players, those within his "Circle of Trust," tolerated misconduct from them (including not disciplining Percy Harvin for physically assaulting his wide receivers coach in 2008), and basically allowed the locker room to spiral out of control until the inmates ran the asylum.
That being said, I am keenly interested in the learned opinions of the esteemed scholars on this site - how will Urban Meyer do at Ohio State?
Poll
How Will Urban Meyer do at Ohio State?
He will immediately dominate. (18 votes)
He will eventually dominate, but there will be some growing pains while he brings in his players and system, and the NCAA sanctions take their toll. (44 votes)
He will be successful, but will not dominate. There will generally be one or two peer competitors, whether that be Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, or someone else. (72 votes)
He will fail (at least by Ohio State standards). (7 votes)
He will have some initial success, but will gradually decline as the practices alleged in the article destroy the team. (42 votes)
