Dennis Pursley, an Alabama grad, with stops in Australia, USA Swimming and now British Swimming has been named the Alabama Crimson Tide Swimming and Diving Coach for both Men and Women. He will come to T-Town after the London Olympics this summer. When it comes to the Crimson Tide swimming program, think of the UA-AU situation in gymnastics.... except we're on the sour end of it. It's no secret Auburn is a juggernaut in swiming with multiple National Championships, our best finish ever at the NCAAs is 2nd in 1977. Our finish in the last four years are 22nd (08), 21st (09), 26th (10) and 29th(11). We're pretty middle of the road. This is a major hire for the turning the Tide, won't happen over night, but it a sign of brighter things to come.
