This US Open has the most Alabama players making that I can remember. Granted Jerry Pate won in the 70s, but 3 making the cut seems to be a first that I can recall. We have mentioned Michael Thompson, but tied with him is Hunter Hamrick, Sr on last years golf team who recently turned pro. If you recall he killed his opponent in the final round of the NCAA championship. He is at +5, teeing off at 3:40 CDT, playing with Padri Harrington. He shot 67 on Friday and followed it up with a 71 yesterday. Jason Bohn, the kid who won $1M at a charity event with a hole in one as a freshman at Alabama and therefore had to turn pro in order to take the money also made the cut. 3 Bama players make the cut, I don't think that has ever happened. Roll Tide and maybe Thompson and Hamrick can have a good round, make the top 10 and change their PGA Tour careers.
