This is a map produced by the SB Nation mothership of the average distribution of three-star-plus talent around the country -- the brighter, the better. It accompanies a Jason Kirk article examining schools' spending on recruiting. The argument being schools located in areas with a dearth of talent are forced to spend more to remain competitive (e.g. Tennessee). This analysis dovetails very well with the recent RBR piece looking at the trend at Alabama under Saban to recruit more players from outside the borders of the Yellowhammer State. A trend we're already seeing replicated with the most current recruiting class.
