Aight y'all, I'm bored again. Just posting something random that might generate some discussion and humor. What are some of your favorite football cliches? The ones you love to hate. This could be regarding anything...sportscasters, analysts, locker room speeches, play calling, fans, etc. Anything pertaining to the entire football experience.
A few that come to my mind...the expression "team speed." This is pretty dumb. Yes, a team might have some fast players, and every team likes to have them. But football isn't like a relay race. Team speed, to me, is a pretty stupid thing to say (insert SEC>B1G here).
Also, how many times to we have to have a play action/pass over the top explained? Yes, I see the safety bite because he respects the run. Yes, the qb takes advantage of said bite. Still, could we stop it already (I'm lookin' at you Tony Dungy NBC Sunday night).
Any fanbase that claims their place is just magical...unlike any other in college football on those crisp, cool autumn nights with smells of tailgating in the air blah blah blah. Of course it's magical. We all love it, and we all have special feelings towards our schools, and every school is unique. But seriously, college football is awesome, and we all understand the magic. Let's chill on the "you just don't get what it's like at my place" attitude.
I have others, but I'll leave it at this for the moment. Help me out y'all...throw 'em out there.
