Bobby Dodd Stadium is one of the few college football stadiums in the downtown area of a large city.
Day four of the polling continues with the ACC. Oklahoma won the Big XII voting handily with 44%, but at least there was some competition. Oklahoma State came in second with 27% and Texas came in third with 19%. I guess 2009 really helped shake that Texas voodoo for most of y'all.
Regarding the ACC, the SEC largely shares a footprint with them and the conferences battle for the same recruits despite SEC dominance. Regarding Alabama specifically, we've played the current members of the ACC more than any conference except for Conference USA (though there are only a handful of games separating the two.) Alabama is 78-34-4 against current members of the ACC. Here is a team by team breakdown:
Boston College: 1-3
Clemson: 12-3
Duke: 2-1
Florida State: 2-1-1
Georgia Tech: 28-21-3
Maryland: 2-1
Miami: 14-3
North Carolina: 1-0
North Carolina State: 5-0
Virginia Tech: 11-1
We have never played Virginia or Wake Forest.
I really hate that Georgia Tech scrapped our home and home with them, but we can't complain too much seeing as we did the same thing with Penn State several years ago. Wouldn't mind seeing us equaling the balance sheet with Boston College either. If we did a home and home with any of them, I say let's play Miami because the city is a lot of fun. It's kind of weird, we don't play these teams too often, but none of them excite me terribly much either. Oh well, on we go to the voting...
