Travell Dixon told me that he decided to leave Alabama due to "family and personal reasons." He has not made a decision on where he will go.

While we were all busy paying attention to a different team's cornerback issues, Andrew Bone tweeted that JUCO transfer Travell Dixon has left the program. Dixon was considered the top junior college corner when he committed to Alabama, but as I noted in the defensive backs preview he only began playing football as a high school senior so he's still an incredibly raw prospect. After showing some progress in spring, Dixon has fallen to no better than 4th at the CB position behind Dee Milliner, John Fulton, and fellow JUCO transfer Deion Belue and was not likely to see any substantial playing time this season.
Though Dixon has the raw athleticism to eventually be an SEC caliber corner, as a two year player hoping to develop and work your way into that rotation - which should return intact next season barring any unlikely early departures for the NFL - for your last season of eligibility is probably not the best route to meaningful playing time. Best of luck to him wherever he lands.
