RBR Tailgating | Sweet 'n Citrusy Pork Chops

Stay connected for news and updates

Oh, you wanted a picture?

UPDATE: I made these Saturday and they turned out pretty well. The orange flavor was this close to being overpowering, so maybe only use one orange to slice and cover, but overall it was tastey.

Full disclosure on this one folks, I haven't tried this yet. I had every intention of making it Thursday night so I could give a review, but real life rudely intruded and I just ran out of time. Oh well, I do still intend to try it for Saturday's game, so I'll update with my thoughts then, but for now, here's your weekly recipe.

Ingredients

6 (3/4"-thick) center-cut pork loin chips, trimmed
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup orange juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 medium oranges, unpeeled and sliced

Preparation

Sprinkle chops on both sides with salt and ppper. Place chops in a 4 to 5 quart slow cooker.

Combine brown sugar, orange juice, and garlic in a small bowl; pour over chops. Arrange orange slices over chops.

Cover and cook on high setting 1 hour. Reduce heat to low setting, and cook 3 hours.

Serve over rice to enjoy the gravy that's made during cooking.
