SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Rankings 2011
The latest blogpoll is out, and our own beloved Tide has all but one first place vote. Black Heart Gold Pants is super into Stanford right now but will probably bail on them as soon as they sign to a major. So, thoughts and etc.
Look at the standard deviation for Alabama. Look at it. That's incredible.
Georgia at #4? Ok. I mean, I wouldn't put them that high (and didn't), but a large part of that is plain old bias. Until they manage to not derp away the East to Florida or South Carolina I won't be convinced. But so far they do look like a top ten team and have a better win at Missouri than the teams I put ahead of them (Florida State, West Virginia, and Clemson), so I'm cool with them that high.
South Carolina at #9, on the other hand....let's just say they underwhelmed against Vandy and then beat up on a couple of C-USA teams. I am in no way convinced of the 'Cocks. But then again I never am, so whatever.
Also, Oklahoma a top ten team? Am I still just holding the sleep walk through UTEP against them? I honestly have no idea who they have played since then. :/
#11 Notre Dame is too high, maybe? I had them at #13, but I also had Texas, K-State, and tOSU ahead of them. Don't know what to make of the Irish right now.
Hooray Northwestern got in! Boo Mississippi State got in. Go check their wins head to head, then get back to me.
From the others receiving votes: who is still including Miami?
Other than that, I don't see anything glaringly obvious to point out in this week's, but then again we've only played three weeks worth of games.
