Thoughts, observations, excuses:
I'm dropping USC behind Oregon, not because either team has played anyone to really separate themselves, but because when its all said and done Oregon is still probably a better/deeper team that should have been getting the preseason hype the Trojans received.
LSU moves up to #2 because they played and massacred a half decent BCS team. Yes, I am aware Syracuse is a BCS team. They are not, however, half decent.
Ohio State jumps up to the top ten because they are probably the best team in the B1G right now, followed closely behind by Michigan State. That doesn't say much for the B1G.
LOL at two ACC teams in the top ten. Wonder how long that'll last?
Georgia gets a good jump after showing resiliency against Missouri even without a couple of starters. One of the biggest knocks on Georgia over the last few years is their erratic and inconsistent play, especially on defense, but they looked good in putting Mizzou away late. I didn't get to see them play Buffalo, but I was impressed with how they responded throughout this game.
Kansas State makes their debut at #13, which seems high, but they probably should have been ranked all along, so consider that a make up ranking. Plus, LOL Miami.
Arizona, Oregon State, and UCLA all get in thanks to upsets of previously highly ranked teams. I was most impressed with UCLA, though. They aren't a great team, but after watching Neuheisel and Dorrell teams over the past several years seeing the Bruins look competent is kind of fun.
Likewise Nebraska falls pretty hard, and honestly considered dropping them entirely. Only reason I didn't is cause I couldn't think of anyone else worth ranking. :/
Tennessee gets ranked cause they probably should have been last season, but not too highly cause shut up Tennessee.
And finally, I don't think I need to explain why ULM gets a Mr. Irrelevant vote this week.
So where am I wrong, who is too high/low, who did I leave out, and etc.?
