I am pretty sure it is no coincidence that Alabama will have a parade and celebration program to honor the 2012-13 BCS Championship winning team on Saturday (1/19/13). It is also probably the biggest recruiting weekend for the Class of 2013. It is the final push to fill the last 5-6 slots.

How can you help? It’s easy, it’s free, and it’s going to be BIG FUN. Just come to Tuscaloosa this Saturday and show your school spirit. We are going to blow some recruits away! The forecast is for sunny and upper 50s.

The parade will feature Coach Saban, the players & staff, Mal Moore and other special guests. It will start at 1:30 p.m. CT, at the corner of University Blvd and Second Ave and conclude at the Walk of Champions. The ceremony will be held on the top steps of the Bryant-Denny Stadium North End Zone to be emceed by Eli Gold. Many former players are expected to attend as well.

If you want to make a weekend out of it, come in on Friday and join us at Coleman Coliseum to cheer on the other Alabama Dynasty as the Gymnastics team has their home opener against LSU at 7:30 p.m. CT. Come back Saturday night as the Men's Basketball team take on Texas A&M at 5:00 p.m. CT.

Here is the current guest list of recruits. I will update it as the week goes on.

Jonathan Allen Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA) OLB 6-3/260 The next great Alabama LB. Solid Commit. You are going to love this kid.
Alvin Kamara Norcross, GA RB 5-10/195 Kirby Smart is making a BIG push for this kid. A good weekend could sway him to T-town over UGA. Will announce on NSD.
Vonn Bell Ridgeland (Rossville, GA) S 5-11.5/190 A protypical Saban safety, Bama may be favored over Ohio St and Tenn. Will announce on NSD.
Reuben Foster Auburn, AL (via Georgia) LB 6-1/240 Have you heard of this guy? UGA and Auburn may lead Alabama.
Montravius Adams Dooly County (Vienna, GA) DT 6-4/310 5-Star has a long list of suitors and is playing his cards close to his chest. But as classes fill up, is he waiting too long to decide?
Darius Page Foley, AL DT 6-4/285 4-Star DT is a solid Bama commit. Dominated both the Semper Fi and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Games.
Anthony Averett Woodbury, NJ S 6-1/180 4-Star safety is a solid Bama commit. 6'1" and runs a 4.4.
Jason Carr White Station (Memphis, TN) SDE 6-6/270 Soft Tennessee commit. He might be a Plan B.
Eddie Jackson Boyd Anderson (Fort Lauderdale, FL) ATH 6-2/175 This is an interesting one. He is not as well-known because he did not play in 2011 (academics). He had 6 INTs his senior year.
Henry Poggi Gilman (Baltimore, MD) DT 6-4/270 Michigan commit, teammate of Tide WR Cyrus Jones. Might be a possible flip but he may have waited too long.
Walker Jones Evangelical Christian School (Ridgely, TN) ILB 6-3/238 Some say he is the most talented of Jones brothers. Solid Bama commit.
Bradley Bozeman Handley (Roanoke, AL) OG 6-4.5/305 Solid Bama commit. Did 32 bench reps of 185 lbs at the Under-Armour combine (second highest).
A'Shawn Robinson Arlington Heights (Fort Worth, TX) OT 6-5/302 I don't think this 5-star Texas commit is serious about Bama.

In other recruiting news:

* 5-star DT Eddie Vanderdoes (Auburn, CA) has set up an official Alabama visit for the weekend of February 1, 2013. He decommitted from Southern Cal in late December. The Tide will hold a scholarship for him up until National Signing Day (Feb 6).

* Rumor has it that 4-star safety Antonio Conner (Batesville, MS) wants to come to Alabama but is being pressured to stay in-state. DRAMA! he is scheduled to announce his decision on February 3.

* Long-time FSU commit Austin Golson has plans to visit Ole Miss Jan 18, FSU on Jan 25 and Auburn on Feb 1. I am not sure if he is just having fun or if he really has some doubts about FSU.

* From the WTF Department: the #1 rated WR in nation, 5-star LaQuon Treadwell who is from Illinois, has committed to... Ole Miss?

UPDATE: The University did not provide a crowd estimate but from the pictures and video you can see that several thousands showed up. Roll Tide.

There are no new commitments at this writing but Kamara and Jackson both has great visits. Jackson picked up a 4th star from 247 and ESPN on Sunday.

Of note, UGA DC Todd Grantham showed up late to meet 5-star Montravius Adams this past weekend.

** An interesting development: OG Bradley Bozeman has agreed to greyshirt. It's pure speculation on my part but this might mean Saban is getting more commitments than he expected. Bozeman tore his ACL midway through his senior season and will need time to rehab. He certainly would've redshirt the 2013 season anyway.

*** Vonn Bell has picked up a 5th star from Rivals. He also has 5 stars from 247sports and Scout.
