It's days like this, with games like this. Big games, against big-time opponents with all the marbles on the line. We love college football. We love the fact that every game counts, but anything can be forgiven (I'm looking at you, LSU 2007, Florida 2008, and Bama 2011). We love the characters, the goofy and the superserious, the history, pride, flavors, and colors of the rivalries. Breathe it in. Savor it. Exhale. Mmmm.... Get you some more.
It's now, and we love it, and this is as good as it gets. We've been on the good side of a lot of good games, and had some good fortune when it counted, and stepped up when we had to. It might not be this year, and it might not be next year, but this run will end and we'll be down again. But right now we're smack in the middle of the best run of college football the game has ever seen, led by one of the all-time greats. And today, he leads us against one of the few opponents worthy of the appellation. Breathe it in. Savor it.
