I was passing through South East AL. This afternoon when I heard a local yocal radio sports talk guy Phil Paramore saying that Alabama could be in some big trouble due to recruiting violation/rumors. He said he heard so from a reliable source.
First off, I have heard this radio show before back when Cam Newton was paid to go to Auburn. This guy would rip callers a new one (or try to at least), and people on blogs such as roll bama roll for calling his show about or posting a story on our site citing confidential sources in reference to Auburn University. However, he opens his show today with "I heard a reliable source talking about major rules violations today concerning the payment of recruits to come to the university of Alabama. The way my source was speaking, it was similar to the case some years ago concerning SMU"....... STFU.....
He immediately followed those accusations by saying "I don't want to spread any rumors and before I continue to talk about this, I am going to need someone, anyone in our listening audience to call the show and tell me what you have heard"... I thought to myself, are you freaking kidding me... What has sports talk shows come to these days, not counting Finebaum. In no way is he a sports talk show, thats strictly entertainment and drama. But after he said that, i thought to myself, Did you not just mention and/or start the rumor just then? Of course he is a graduate of Auburn University and swears against being bias by saying he grew up a Alabama fan but went to school at Auburn. you can tell it burns his butt up that Alabama is on the current tear that they are on. This is not the first time I have heard so-called rumors from his mouth only to research said violations and find nothing of the sort anywhere on the World Wide Web. If he did so just once, I guess I could dismiss the accusation, but this happens at least once or twice a year. Just curious if anyone has heard of his sports show before.
I know we all hear about how we cheat, how we pay players, etc: every time we have a good recruiting haul, or win yet another national title and it usually comes from the widely known, number two program in the lovely state of Alabama. No way around it Auburn, you have been and always will be the number two college in the state. I think we have reached a point to where we could honestly say that the program beside Georgia is not even our biggest rival anymore. I now think they are second behind LSU. To be a rival, I think you have to be some what competitive. With the exception to that flash in the pan, that was the 2010 season, That school hasn't been relevant since 2007.
I understand that these rumors are going to continue to come out of that school, accusing us of improprieties. I understand that these rumors will continue to come out against Alabama due to their hate and their rivalry against us. I also understand that hate is a direct result of fear and that school fears Alabama with all their fiber. But their fans and THEIR SPORTS TALK HOST, look so damn stupid when they accuse Alabama of cheating.... Yeah Auburn, we Bammers have to pay recruits because our coach has never been able to recruit. yeah Auburn, we have to cheat because our coach is only the best coach in the modern era of college football. Yeah Auburn we have to pay players to come play for Alabama because we've won 3 of the past four titles, yeah Auburn we have to pay players just so we can compete against a consistant 7-6/3-9 football team. Yeah Auburn, Alabama has to cheat just so we can get top level talent when recruiting against (practically) a first year coach in "the Gus bus"...... Stupid. Shut the hell up with your accusations and focus on the likes of Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Thank you!
