The ink is dry and the fax machine has stopped spitting out 2013 Letters of Intent but Nick Saban's job is never done.

On Saturday, Texas defensive back/wide receiver Deionte Thompson tweeted that he had given his verbal commitment to the University of Alabama football team. He was in attendance at today's Junior Day and made his intentions known. Coach Saban personally extended the scholarship offer and Thompson immediately accepted.

Thompson is 6-2, 175 lbs and has been clocked at 4.65 in the 40. He plays at West Orange-Stark high school in Orange, Texas - the same school that produced All-Pro Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas. Alabama is recruiting Thompson as a safety.

Full stats are not available but in 2012 as a sophomore he had at least 2 interceptions - one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Recruiting rankings for 2014 athletes have yet to begin.
