Michael Thompson, who played golf for Alabama a few years back, won the PGA Tour Honda Classic Sunday for his first PGA win. Here is a link

If you watched the telecast of the event one of the highlights was when they showed the quilt his wife made him for Christmas. It was a huge crimson & hounds-tooth Alabama Crimson Tide quilt with the script A in the middle. Really an awesome home made quilt.
For those that may not know the whole story, Thompson, originally from Arizona, played golf at Tulane but when Katrina hit he was forced to transfer and he came to Bama. He then ended up having a great college career at Alabama. He is also a really nice guy and a great ambassador for the Alabama golf program as well as the University. (He now lives in Birmingham.)
I don't remember the exact details but a few years ago Thompson was playing in the Masters and missed the cut when he called a penalty on himself that no one but he knew about. It was great display of integrity. With the win today he will be returning to the 2013 Masters in a few weeks.
Way to go Michael.
