DeSherrius Flowers (6-1 200), running back from Vigor High School in Prichard, Ala., becomes commitment No. 3 for the Crimson Tide in the 2015 class.
"Alabama has always been his favorite school," said Vigor head coach Ashley Johnson. "He grew up an Alabama fan. He always wears Alabama apparel around school. That has been the school he has always liked from what I know.
"He knows Alabama is doing a great job. Who can't say Alabama isn't the best program in the country right now especially for tailbacks. He is a big back at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds, and he is only a sophomore. He is only going to get bigger."
Flowers is considered by many as the top prospect in the Mobile area as a rising junior. There is little doubt he is considered among the state's top prospects.
"I would say his strengths are just how big and strong he is," Johnson said. "He loves the weight room. He loves physicality. He loves putting his head down. He has a good attitude and is a very unselfish guy.
"He has pretty good speed now. He is going to work on everything though. He can get even stronger and faster. He can work on his footwork. He has to continue to work hard and get better.
"I think it's a possibility for him to be the top recruit in Mobile next year. Anytime Alabama is that interested in a player it says a lot about his potential. They have done a great job recruiting him. They were really the first school to get on him. Auburn has been on him a lot lately. Alabama saw him as a diamond and jumped on him early."
