In Sherman's two seasons with the Cardinals, he has served mostly as a blocking back who occasionally caught a pass.
Arenas has spent three seasons with the Chiefs as a nickel corner, cornerback, punt and kickoff returner. In 2012, he started 9 games and had 53 tackles.
This is a bit of an odd trade since this leaves Arizona without a fullback. Conversely, Kansas City now has a second fullback to go along with Braden Wilson out of Kansas State who they just drafted in the 6th round last Saturday. Additionally, the Cards just recently drafted Tyrann Mathieu who similarly is projected as a nickle-back and kick returner. But maybe "projected" is part of the thought process - as in "project". Could new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians be hoping that some of Arenas' professionalism rubs off on the Honey Badger?
