Per AL.com Darius Paige has officially been cleared by the NCAA and will enroll today (Monday). It was reported back in June that Paige was attempting to raise his ACT score and was also retaking an English course and the hope was that an improvement in one of the two areas would be enough to meet the NCAA Clearinghouse requirements. The good news is that it seems as if Paige was able to meet one of the two standards, though which one he met wasn't made known in the article.
Paige, a 4-star defensive lineman out of Foley, AL, has a chance to see some playing time this upcoming season on a D-line that could use some depth. There's a chance, however, that he will red-shirt. Either way this is good news for the Tide defense.
On a more worrisome note there is still no word on cornerback Jonathan Cook's status or an official word about wide receiver Robert Foster. Back on June 22nd it was reported by AL.com and BamaOnLine that Foster was set to enroll though no official word by the University has been given. If I missed the official press release by Bama please post the link it in the comment section.
Good news regarding Jonathan Cook: Per @AndrewJBone
However, Robert Foster's eligibility is still up in the air.
I spent most the day asking around for some type of clarification regarding what is holding up Foster being officially cleared by the NCAA and came up with nothing. Hope for the best
