Not only is this kid talented, but he has a cool name too.

Pro-style QB Ricky Town of Ventura, CA has made his verbal commitment to sign with the University of Alabama in 2015.

Town (6-4/198) is rated 5-stars, the top QB, and number 3 overall football player by 247sports. Rivals and Scout have not released their 2015 rankings as of yet. He runs a 4.65 in the 40 and has an excellent grade point average.

As a sophomore, Town completed 69.5% of his passes for 2,400 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also rushed for 180 yards and 2 TDs. Of his 19 rushing attempts in 2012, 15 of them resulted in first downs plus the 2 scores.

Here are his sophomore highlights:

If you watched the video you probably saw he has excellent pocket presence and excels at eluding the rush. He knows how to get good yardage from his feet when the opportunity is presented. He has a quick release on his passes and throws tight accurate spirals.

Here is his freshman reel (you may want to lower the audio before playing):

"They are all about creating the overall person, not just the football player," he told Rivals. "That is what really impressed me."

Town selected Bama over UGA, FSU, Texas, Stanford, USC, AND UCLA among others. He is the fifth commitment to the Class of 2015.
