I just read a really good article on SBNation by Bud Elliott, The Florida State Process: How Jimbo Fisher combined the best of Bobby Bowden and Nick Saban to build a New Champion in Tallahassee, where he maps FSU's road to the 2013 BCS Title.
As a fairly rabid Tide fan, I honestly rarely read articles about another team unless its primary focus somehow relates to OUR team, so you can see how THIS article reeled me in. I never heard an 'official' comment from Jimbo relating his process to ODL's, but this author clearly sees the correlation as it it referred to NUMEROUS times.
My biggest take away is that this Florida State team started the off-season last year after having lost SIX coaches to other schools, 11 players to the draft (i actually think the final number was 17 after free-agent assignments), and with no real idea who their QB would be. Pretty phenomenal & it makes me admire what they were able to accomplish in more ways than I probably want to admit since I DO have to live with their fans, here, on the Gulf Coast of FL. It also makes me VERY hopeful and extremely excited to see the 2014 Alabama Crimson Tide.
It's a long read but I think y'all will enjoy it.
