Baseball cranking up soon

Full practice hasn't begun yet,but limited work is allowed. The guys have been working hard under new strength coach Ben Ashford ( a Scott Cochrane disciple) and are increasing their speed and strength. Several guys packed on 15 to 20 pounds of muscle since last season, and others have reshaped their bodies and lost weight, when needed. The first injury of winter-spring practice occurred yesterday as manager Phil Provost was helping shag fly balls during BP and forgot to use his glove, catching a fly ball square on his shnoz, breaking his nose nd giving him a concussion. No medical red shirt for the senior, so he will have to tough out the season,

In other news, a couple of former Bama players settled their arbitration cases. NY Yankees David Robertson signed the biggest contract ever for a Bama player with a one year 5.25 million dollar deal. Tommy Hunter of the Orioles inked a 1 year 3 million dollar contract. Detriots Alex Avila asked for 5.5 million and the Tigers countered with 3.75 million, an arbitrator will settle the case.

Bama baseball fever! catch it. Roll T IDE y'all. Roger
