2014 National Signing Day Primer and Player Announcement Schedule

Streeter Lecka

OH BOY. WHERE WILL HE GO?!?!?!

Another year, another day when grown men wait in eager anticipation of where an 18 year old kid will attend college. Actually, we should start taking prop bets on who has the best/worst/most creative announcement.

And maybe it's the fact that 98% of Bama's class is already set but each year I feel less enthused about National Signing Day. Don't get me wrong, I love watching 'Bama haul in another crop of elite players but there just doesn't seem to be the same buzz as in years' past. #BamaProblems

If you haven't done so yet check out all the excellent work Slice and CB have put together leading up to NSD.

2014 National Signing Day: Alabama's Final Pieces

Tomorrow we will have a live thread which will be updated with any breaking news, as letter of intents start to roll in and as players make their official announcements. Again, though this year will be some what of a bore for Tide fans, there are a few players still left on the board for Bama.

From 2014 National Signing Day: Alabama's Final Pieces:

RASHAAN EVANS

A lot of reports are going to say that Alabama has a chance with Auburn High School'sRashaan Evans but I don't want to waste your time. I just don't see it happening. He is a 5-star OLB.

MALACHI DUPRE

The Tide staff is still recruiting 5-star WR Malachi Dupre but if you know anything about body language, it looks like these two photos tell the story.

DARK HORSE

I don't want to count out 3-star OG Jordan Sims just yet because he hasn't committed anywhere and he is a big Tide fan. It is looking like he'll land at Ole Miss but he better not wait too long because their class in filling up. If not there, then expect him to sign with Mississippi State. He appears to be holding out hope that everyone else will turn down Alabama including Markell Boston.

Note: If anyone finds links to live announcements, please notify us in the comment section in tomorrow's live thread.

A note on times: many will change. Many will be late. Consider them very approximate. The best idea is to stay tuned to social media for updates on each of your school's targets as their announcement times near. The times listed here are based in part on reporting by MaxPreps, Scout, 247Sports, ESPN, and Gator Country. ESPNU lists its times as being "within the hour," while MaxPreps lists specific times for the players announcing on ESPNU. Also, if you spot a time in definite need of updating, do let me know, as we're all in this together.
