I don't know if this is correctly attributed to Jim Rome or not:
You firing off the old "player safety" flare gun because you can't stop Auburn is your biggest BS since you lied about leaving South Beach.
We couldn't stop Auburn? In the game I remember, both offenses scored 28 points and we outgained them by 100 yards, but we missed four field goals and lost by six on a fluke play.
The only thing that's getting smoked is your defense.
When did our defense got smoked? Was it in the aforementioned Disaster in the Pasture? Was it the Sugar Bowl, when when our offense had five turnovers, including a fumble returned for a touchdown with eight seconds remaining in a 14-point loss?
Or was it when we shut down Ole Miss's HUNH in a 25-0 shutout?
I'm not saying our defense is infallible, but I wouldn't expect them to win a game when our special teams leave so many points on the field and our offense gives the ball away. I don't think any defense could overcome that.
