And then there were two...
After another thrilling win, Alabama will now face the Florida Gators in a best of three series. The first team to win two games takes the National Championship.
BAMA 2 OREGON 0
Jaclyn Jackie J-Train Traina pitched another gem giving up 4 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 8 in 7 innings. Oregon's leadoff hitter Courtney Ceo has perfected the bunt/slap hit to get on base but it doesn't do much good if nobody else can move her along. The .493 hitter got two bunt singles but got no further than first base.
Oregon head coach Mike White made an odd choice of starting the Ducks' number two pitcher Karissa Hovinga. She did not give up any runs but it was only a matter of time as the Tide got 5 hits and several noisy outs that chased her from the game in the fourth inning. All-American pitcher Cheridan Hawkins entered the game and proceeded to give up a solo home run to Haylie McCleney to lead off the fifth inning. Later in the inning, Kaila Hunt walked and was sent home on a Molly Fichtner single with Hunt altering her slide in a split-second to avoid the Oregon catcher's tag.
Alabama traveled to Gainesville back in March to face the then #1 ranked Gators. The Tide took two of three from Florida which spurred an eleven game win streak for Bama. Florida went into a bit of a funk being swept by Tennessee in Knoxville the next weekend.

Florida zoomed through their regional with three straight shutouts (8-0 vs. FAMU, 14-0 vs. Stetson, 7-0 vs. UCF). In their Super Regional against Washington, they won the opener 9-0 in 5 innings but lost Game 2 by the score of 4-3 when they used their second pitcher. Florida ace Hannah Rogers (29-8) came back to clinch Game 3 8-0 and hasn't looked back. She continued her scoreless streak with shutouts against Baylor (11-0) and Oregon (4-0) but Baylor figured something out in the rematch scoring three earned runs on Rogers Sunday. The Gators prevailed 6-3.
The UF leadoff hitter Kelsey Stewart is hitting .434. Lauren Haeger has 20 HR and 66 RBI.
