Fighting Fans: Cameron Robinson In A Twitter Beef With Fan...Who's At Fault?

Cameron Robinson is 100 percent committed to playing for the Crimson Tide, but his heart will always be in his home state of Louisiana. Robinson took to twitter to congratulate Nike SPARQ Combine Champion Kirk Merritt. Like Robinson, Merritt hails from Louisiana. Robinson Tweeted: "Of course a Boot Boy wins tha Spark!". What started off as a harmless congratulatory tweet turned into a heated argument with a disgruntled Alabama Fan.

The fan, who goes by "Tuscaloosa Tom/@BamaBoyTom" on Twitter replied to Robinson with a very rude and immature tweet. Tuscaloosa Tom tweeted: "@crobinson_68 I'm glad you're a Bama boy now. Quit rooting for La trash. They aren't your people anymore!". Robinson stood up for his state replying with this statement:"@BamBoyTom You crazy! I'm from LOUISIANA! I got to school in Alabama. Imma always rep where from I'm from. Don't disrespect!!! RTR." Tuscaloosa Tom got the final word tweeting that " (Louisiana) is trash. Sorry you're from there."

In this case I stand by Robinson. All he simply was doing is showing pride for the state that he grew up in. We all should be proud of where we are from. Being from Louisiana doesn't define Robinson, but it is a place where he grew into the man and athlete he is today. As for Tuscaloosa Tom, he is an ignorant fan with blinders on. Great football programs recruit wisely, and there are no boundaries for great talent. It is understood amongst Alabama fans that we have strong negative feelings towards certain programs. What must be understood is that our team and student body is diverse. We are represented by fans, athletes, alumni, and students from every corner of the nation.

It seems that Tuscaloosa Tom is a fan who hasn't been outside of Tuscaloosa. His narrow minded views do not represent the Crimson Tide fan base as a whole. Words like "trash" are direct attacks on someone's integrity. Cameron Robinson is young and will learn that fans like this are not worth responding to.
