Arkansas and Ole Miss bigger
MSU's stadium is the second smallest in the SEC, bigger than only Vanderbilt. Interestingly enough though, MSU's stadium is one of the oldest in the country.

While I prefer...
Agree
GO RASHAD! Mr. Interception!
As a Alabama fan who went to State, I do always have bittersweet feelings about us HAVING to demolish the Bulldogs. C'est la vie. GO BAMA!
And, Davis-Wade is a good stadium. Not huge, but I like it. You can easily heer the cowbells on the radio broadcast.
And--a facemask!
WHOA!!
This game....
ok i'm going to
Kinda...
"Cowbells are significant part of any Mississippi State University experience. The tradition began after a jersey cow wandered on to the football field in the early 1900s, disrupting a game. Subsequently, State won the football game and the cow became a symbol of good luck. Eventually, the cow was replaced with just the cow's bell. Handles were welded onto the bells to ease ringing and are now manufactured and sold specifically as athletic noisemakers."
So yeah, it's a tradition. Kind of.

State playing tough...
We're in good shape as long as we don't turn it over, and a 9-0 lead is pretty good.
We just need a stop and a touchdown and we'll be in great shape.

Carroll
We're containing Dixon pretty well, too. We're getting a lot of people in the box, and our big linebacker corps is helping a lot to stop his physical style.
MSU driving now.

9-3 Lead
A nice long touchdown drive would be nice from the offense. Hasn't happened since John Kerry was last running for president, so we're due.

Fan split?
What's the ratio of 'Bama to MSU fans?
Because it certainly sounds like there are more 'Bama fans than MSU fans.

Oh my god...
103 yard interception return for a touchdown.
MSU will be leading 10-9.
This is not good. Not good at all.

By the way:
I have now (for better or for worse) moved again to Atlanta. Turns out the ATL LF affiliate is showing TN-AR. I'm steamed.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, given recent events) I have Eli and the Snake on Sirius.
I found the same problem

No kidding...
That's essentially the epitome of crappy quarterback play.
That's Pennington-esque.

Thanks...
My point being, Wilson looked like a world beater in the Tennessee game...and has looked good since (LSU) and I thought he was starting to get going in this game, and then stupidity strikes.

This is how State wins...
How in the holy hell can that kid not get it in his head that he must protect the football?
I mean it's one thing that the passing game is shit (8-17 for 68 yards), but you can at least protect the damn football when you have it third and goal from the one with time running out in the half.

Who's doing the play calling today?

I'm not sure
Are we done?
Something major has to change and it has to change fast. This is a two possession game for us, we need a quick score.
And it's so obvious that as much as we are running the ball, despite little to no success, that the coaching staff has no confidence in Wilson's passing ability at the moment.

RASHAD!!!!
Turnovers have been big today.
MSU recovered two of their own fumbles in their deep end, took the JPW pass back for a TD, had another big INT return, and Rashad dropped an INT deep in MSU territory.
And the 'Bama crowd there is booing at our complete lack of a passing offense.

Running the ball...
And there goes a completion to Hall. That's like two completions in a row, so we must be due for a bad play.
Nice run by Lowe and we are driving. Even a field goal would be a good thing here.

We need a stop and a touchdown to win, and we have to do it all in just around six minutes.

At this point, the offense is going to have to drive a mile at the very end with extremely little amount of time left.

by outsidethesidelines on Nov 10, 2007 2:38 PM CST reply actions
I think this...
please
MSU looking to punt?
Okay, bounches into the end zone and there will be 38 seconds left with us having it at the 20.
38 seconds left.
80 yards to go.
0 timeouts.

3 seconds run off the clock when we spike the ball? Hello home-field homer running the clock, nice to meet you.

Just think if he and Brodie could switch birthdays. I would love to have traded JPW for Brodie this year. We might have won every game considering all of our losses were determined to a great extent by poor decision making/throws by the QB.
