>> The field-level chain link fence the separates fans from the field will be replaced by a wrought iron fence. >> The concrete apron will be replaced by bricks. First I heard about these changes. That should look pretty nice. I just hope no players ever run into the wrought iron!

[********] it just broke my chandalier (sp?) damn now i'm bleeding thanks les. I'm totally drained of about a good 1/3 cup of blood and mentally drained. Gotta clean this glass up before the wife and kids get home.

It's Meltdown Time... Meltdown time never gets old. Hopefully we'll have one for USC later in the week.

Former UA defensive back Marquis Johnson apparently played a good game of poker on draft day. With undrafted free-agent status a real possibility for Johnson as the final hour of picks began to unfold, St. Louis Rams secondary coach Clayton Lopez called Johnson to ask how many teams had called to indicate he might be their final pick. 'Really, none,' Johnson revealed for a feature story in his hometown newspaper, the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune, 'but I was like, ‘Seven.' (Lopez) was like, ‘Shoot, OK.'' Soon after, the Rams made Johnson the 211th pick of the draft in the seventh and final round.

You can spill a lot of blood sweat and tears as a parent/coach, but once your child/player is out of your house/program and on their own, what they do from there and how well they do it is on their shoulders. The other thing is, name me a program that churns out players who all thrive at the NFL level. Miami had a pretty good run for a while, but there are not the kind of football factories that used to exist out there anymore, in large part because there are a lot more solid programs now. LSU produces plenty of players ready for the NFL Draft. If they’re not ready to play when they get to the league, it’s hard to fault their college coaches.

Baton Rouge Advocate: Ex-Tigers' NFL woes not LSU coaches' fault This guy would have been better off blowing his nose onto a piece of paper than turning in this garbage. I'm just shocked people are still defending the Taffy Bandit.

Derek Dooley offered his strongest indication to date that Tennessee has a favorite to win the quarterback job. But the Vols coach still followed it up by clarifying that the race isn't close to over. Speaking last week at a Big Orange Caravan stop in Cleveland, Dooley subtly gave the nod to junior-college transfer Matt Simms as the top candidate to take over the offense heading into the summer. And after spending all spring refusing to announce a depth chart or provide much running commentary on the battle, the comments were somewhat revealing.

GoVolsXtra: Dooley tabs Simms as leading option -- for now
