"Woodson will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2013 season, per NCAA transfer rules. He is the son of Danny Woodson Sr., who played quarterback at Alabama from 1990-91. After sitting out the 2011 season, Woodson appeared in six games for the Crimson Tide. He recorded just one catch for nine yards during the 52-0 rout of Arkansas on Sept. 15. Alabama suspended Woodson for a violation of team rules in February and he did not participate with the team during spring practice."
Ok, folks. Moore, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City, just got pounded by a twister on par with the one that hit Tuscaloosa two years ago. SB Nation's Oklahoma Sooners site, Crimson & Cream Machine is starting to deal with the scale of the disaster much like we did. If anyone understands what they are going through, it's us. If you have advice, support or prayers to offer, it might be a good time to drop in and let them know.
Someone please put this on the front page!!
Just retire from going to Decatur
So let's do the math. Eight home games per year versus six, that's more than a ten million dollar net change in an elite teams budget. Mid Majors would go from five FBS homes games and a payout to the FCS schools to six games, losing a million net. They would also save about 1-200 K on the FCS games they buy to offset the road trip. No it would not replace the money they lose on those pay check games but dollar for dollar the Mid Majors would be hurt less than the P5 teams if a line was drawn between them. Then we can also acknowledge a lot of the Power Five teams who hit six wins do so at the expense of a Mid Major. How many five win mid majors last year had a loss to a power conference? how many power conference mebers had six wins and a win over a mid major.
This article is from 2011 and behind a pay wall but I find this real interesting. Someone needs to pass this along to Trevor Lacey.
If you guys haven't heard about Fancred, here's the link. It's a great spot for hot takes.
