Todd's Friday Embarassing Admission...

...or, Todd Attempts to Curry Favor With the Football Gods by Admitting his Moral, Cultural, and Intellectual Flaws in a Very Public Manner.

Admitting I love Tequiza and voluntarily watched Norbit kept my internet working and the PPV game on, owning up to my lust for Paris Hilton garnered the Tide a win over Vandy despite some offensive troubles, and copping to a disturbing love for Phil Collins bought us a stirring fourth quarter rally against Arkansas. But since admitting that I own RV and the Pacifier apparently wasn't embarassing enough to get a win over Georgia, and what should have been a national title winning admission saw us play even worse against Florida State, I decided to stick it to the Football Gods and brag about my awesome guitar. They repaid my hubris with an ugly win over Houston, so I again come humbly before them with something I'm not terribly proud of. It's been a pretty rough week and a half or so for me at work, and coming home on Tuesday I was especially tired, frustrated, and angry, so, to soothe my troubled spirit, I flipped through the old iPod until I came to...

...and totally rocked the Madonna all the way home. Yes, it's true, despite my marked inability to dance and love for country music, God help me I do love the girly dance music. Now that that's out of the way, your Friday AM Links and Such.

Coach Saban isn't ruling Britt out this weekend, but it isn't likely that he'll play:

"First of all, the priority for us in terms of Justin Britt and his family is he does all the things that he needs to do to help his family, and it's our concern that we do everything we can do to help him," Saban said. "I don't think a football game, from a priorities standpoint, is anywhere in the same hemisphere as the priority that the family has right now or that we have for them. His feeling about whether he would want to participate, could participate or whatever, would certainly be the driving force behind how we managed him in this game."

On the injury front, Ali Sharrief is also questionable.

Alabama practiced in full pads again on Wednesday, with only one player in a black "no contact" jersey. Dime safety Ali Sharrief suffered a neck injury last week against Houston and is questionable for Saturday's game at Ole Miss.

Coach Saban is pretty confident that we'll be able to run the ball against the Rebels tomorrow:

"The one thing we've done best in every game except one is we've been effective running the ball," Saban said. "We've got a good offensive line. We've got three guys that have all played pretty well for us as runners.

"Now, we've got to get the balance between throwing it well and running it well, so that we can utilize the skill players that we have, get them more opportunities to make big plays, and continue to do the things that we've done well to play to our strengths."

On the flipside, he's also aware they could easily run on us:

Mississippi's BenJarvus Green-Ellis has rushed for more than 200 yards in a game this season and is on pace to easily surpass his 1,000-yard rushing total from last year.

He has the respect of the Southeastern Conference. This, for instance, from coach Nick Saban, who brings Alabama to Oxford on Saturday.

"He's probably one of the better combination guys that we've faced in terms of being able to do both things -- break tackles as well as make some big plays running the ball," Saban said. "He's going to be a handful for us."

al.com has a helpful fact sheet for tomorrow's game. It's a pdf file, so you might want to just save it.

The Crimson White takes a look at the Tide's effort to get the offense going on the road.

Tide Druid has a brief Q&A with Ole Miss blogger The Hotty Toddy blog, who has his own Q&A with the Tide Druid here.

Saban isn't impressed by your stats:

Alabama coach Nick Saban, who helps coach the defensive backs, bristled at the notion that Castille has had to wait until the midway point of the season to record an interception.

"Nobody here should be impressed with interceptions, anyway," Saban said. "You make interceptions when you have an opportunity to make them. You want turnovers, but we're not happy seeing guys take chances and cut in front of people, and trying to get interceptions so you get your name in the paper and -- he catches the ball and you're not in position to tackle him (and) he's running for a 70-yard touchdown."

Finally, what you've all been waiting for, your Friday McPhee.

You're welcome.
