SEC Baseball Week in Review

Tuesday, April 17th thru Sunday, April 22nd

Western Division

23-18
(8-10)
4/18 Bama 4 vs South Alabama 5
4/20 Bama 5 at Auburn 12
4/21 Bama 3 at Auburn 6
4/22 Bama12 at Auburn 4

32-11
(13-5)
4/18 Arkansas 16 at Mo. State 2
4/20 Arkansas 1 at UGA 6
4/21 Arkansas 7 at UGA 6
4/22 Arkansas 9 at UGA 3

After dropping friday night's contest, the Razorback's rebounded to take their weekend road series with the Diamond Dawgs two games to one. They'll host Wichita State on Wednesday before traveling to Auburn for the weekend.

25-14
(4-11)
4/18 Auburn 8 at Samford 9
4/20 Auburn 12 vs Bama 5
4/21 Auburn 6 vs Bama 3
4/22 Auburn 4 vs Bama 12

Seriously:

23-18-1
(8-9-1)
4/18 LSU 4 at UNO 5
4/20 LSU 3 at Miss State 12
4/21 LSU 6 at Miss State 5
4/22 LSU 3 at Miss State 1

LSU took their weekend series with Mississippi State two games to one after dropping a mid-week contest with New Orleans. They'll host Southern on Wednesday before welcoming Tennessee (boo! hiss!) to Baton Rouge on Friday.

27-15
(10-8)
4/17 Ole Miss 9 at State 14
4/20 Ole Miss 8 vs South Carolina 5
4/21 Ole Miss 6 vs South Carolina 0
4/22 Ole Miss 9 vs South Carolina 11

The Rebs were disappointed in Pearl, MS during the week as the hated Bulldogs took the Governor's Cup back to Starkville (that poor Governor's Cup...), but can at least take solace in taking their series with a good South Carolina team. They'll host Murray State before welcoming the Bulldogs to Oxford for a chance at sweet (drunken?) revenge.

25-10
(9-7)
4/17 State 14 at Ole Miss 9
4/20 State 12 at LSU 3
4/21 State 5 at LSU 6
4/22 State 1 at LSU 3

After the mid-week elation of downing the hated Rebels for the Governor's Cup, and thorough dismantling of the Bayou Bengals on Friday, State just wasn't able to keep it together the rest of the weekend, dropping Saturday and Sunday's contests to LSU. They'll take on Southern Miss in Starkville on Tuesday and Wednesday before traveling to Oxford for some more delicious hatred.

Eastern Division

23-20
(10-8)
4/18 Florida 5 at FSU 4
4/20 Florida 2 vs Kentucky 9
4/21 Florida 10 vs Kentucky 7
4/22 Florida 5 vs Kentucky 4

The Gators downed the rival Seminoles on the road during the week before taking their series with visiting Kentucky two games to one. They'll take the week off before heading to Nashville with the top ranked Commodores on Friday.

14-26
(6-12)
4/18 UGA 2 at Ga Tech 8
4/20 UGA 6 vs Arkansas 1
4/21 UGA 6 vs Arkansas 7
4/22 UGA 3 vs Arkansas 9

After falling to the rival Yellowjackets in Atlanta on Wednesday, things briefly looked up for the Diamond Dawgs as they topped Western Division leader Arkansas Friday night. But things went south again, as they dropped the next two and fell to 6-12 in conference play. They'll play the road warriors this week, as they head back to Atlanta for another date with Tech on Tuesday before meeting Western Carolina in Cullowhee, NC, on Wednesday, and then taking on Kentucky in Lexington over the weekend.

27-12-1
(7-10-1)
4/18 Kentucky 6 vs Morehead State 9
4/20 Kentucky 9 at Florida 2
4/21 Kentucky 7 at Florida 10
4/22 Kentucky 4 at Florida 5

The Cats didn't fare so well this week, dropping a mid-week contest to Morehead State at home before dropping two more on the road against Florida. They'll host rival Louisville on Wednesday before welcoming UGA to Lexington over the weekend.

31-10
(10-8)
4/17 South Carolina 8 vs Wofford 0
4/18 South Carolina 4 vs Clemson 2
4/20 South Carolina 5 at Ole Miss 8
4/21 South Carolina 0 at Ole Miss 6
4/22 South Carolina 11 at Ole Miss 9

The 'Cocks faltered this weekend, dropping two games behind Vandy for the Eastern Division lead after tying things up last weekend. They'll host Davidson on Tuesday, followed by trips to Clemson on Wednesday and Tuscaloosa for the weekend.

22-17
(6-10)
4/17 UT 12 vs Furman 7
4/18 UT 5 vs Lincoln Memorial 4
4/20 UT 1 at Vandy 3
4/21 UT 3 at Vandy 4
4/22 UT 6 at Vandy 7

Tough weekend for the Vols (tee hee), as they were swept by the Commodores in Nasvhille to drop to 6-10 in conference play. They'll continue their traveling this week with trips to ETSU on Tuesday, Wofford on Wednesday, and LSU for the weekend.

35-8
(12-6)
4/17 Vandy 3 at Lipscomb 5
4/18 Vandy 8 at MTSU 11
4/20 Vandy 3 vs UT 1
4/21 Vandy 4 vs UT 3
4/22 Vandy 7 vs UT 6

After an unkind week on the road, Vandy welcome the Vols (boo! hiss!) to Nashville for a weekend sweep. They'll continue to make use of their homefield advantage this week as Tennessee Tech comes to town on Wednesday, followed by a visit from the Florida Gators over the weekend.
