Normally, adding a site to the blogroll would merit a mention in a post with several other links, but I've been so impressed with the new Bama blog Outside the Lines that I decided to give it its own post.

Here's the opening post of the site:

This blog is a bit of a pet project that seeks to provide in-depth statistical analysis attempting to find the real reasons why teams win and lose, and also to determine what really happened during the course of a game. To be very straightforward, if you are looking for cliches and the like, you are probably not in the right place.

Long story short, this blog will very much be in the mold of the Moneyball analyses, such as Football Outsiders, and others.

The blog will focus mainly on my beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, but it will also focus somewhat on other SEC teams, and might occasionally even focus on other college football teams outside of the SEC.

He's done some interesting breakdowns so far such as analyzing first down playing calling during the 2006 season, a thorough breakdown of redzone offense, D.J Hall's production and my personal favorite, a look at the program over the last 25 years.

Bama fans, bookmark this site. Bama bloggers, blogroll this fellow. This is good stuff.

As always, please send us an email if you start a Bama site. They've been popping up like mad lately and some I have found by accident and others (like this one) were pointed out to me by its author.
