THAT, my friends, is how you tackle...
Our good friend Nicole of Cute Sports just e-mailed me this picture:

"Todd," you might be saying to yourself, "what is that strange '69' floating in mid air?"
I'm glad you asked my friend. That's the 6 9 from the side of Lionel Mitchell's Rashad Johnson's helmet.
"But Todd," you might continue to wonder, "what does that mean?"
It means, dear reader, that Lionel Mitchell Rashad Johnson hit that Vandy player so hard THE HELMET STICKER FLEW OFF. God I love this new defense...

If you notice, Johnson is 49, but the only number showing up is 4 on the helmet, and the 9 has been knocked off. The "6" that you see floating mid-air is in actuality Johnson's "9" just upside down.
The AP Caption says as such, as well.
Direct quote: "Alabama linebacker Rashad Johnson (49) has the numeral 9 knocked off his helmet as he gets tangled in a play as Alabama defensive back Lionel Mitchell, left, brings down Vanderbilt wide receiver Sean Walker, center, in the first quarter of a college football game in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007.
