Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Todd's Friday Embarassing Admission...

...or, Todd Attempts to Curry Favor With the Football Gods by Admitting his Moral, Cultural, and Intellectual Flaws in a Very Public Manner.

Since admitting I love Tequiza and voluntarily watched Norbit kept my internet working and the PPV game on, owning up to my lust for Paris Hilton garnered the Tide a win over Vandy despite some offensive troubles, and copping to a disturbing love for Phil Collins bought us a stirring fourth quarter rally against Arkansas, it's time for another embarassing admission in exchange for a win over Georgia.

The following two DVDs are both in my collection...

...and both have been viewed multiple times, as recently as this month. What can I say? Light hearted family fare goes over well with me.

Now that that's out of the way, here are your Friday AM Links and Such.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer talks about the defensive adjustments the Tide needs to make after Arkansas:

"What Arkansas hurt us worst within the game was their regular, most basic things," Saban said. "We adjusted to all the crazy stuff pretty well with (McFadden) at quarterback (or) whatever it was, but when they just got in regular formation and (McFadden) was playing tailback and they ran it downhill on us, we didn't execute very well."

Saban and defensive end Wallace Gilberry both said the Crimson Tide was also in the wrong defensive formation several times in the second half. Proper alignment has been a point of emphasis in practice this week.

"That's things we can fix," Gilberry said. "You can't fix a guy like McFadden, just man-handling you. But self-inflicted wounds you can fix those."

If you don't think Coach Saban is a planner, The Birmingham News would like to have a word with you:

So at the end of every Friday practice, he breaks out a massive list and puts his team in highly specific, ferociously detailed situations that will never, ever happen. Until they do.

"Through the years you develop an accumulation of all these situations," Saban said. "If you just cover them even in walk-through, the players can anticipate and respond to them a little bit better in the game."

Thus far, several important situations have arisen for the Tide, many of them virtual replays from the Friday practice field.

Two of them occurred Saturday, and both were vital to the 41-38 win over Arkansas.

Lorenzo Washington is giving Wallace Gilberry a run for his money as the team quote machine. A few selections:

Q: So ... you're a pretty big guy, 6-4, 283 pounds. How much food does it take to fill you up?

A: It takes a lot. I eat everything. Seriously, I eat everything.

Q: Do you have a favorite food?

A: Food is my favorite.

And:

Q: Saturday's opponent, Georgia, recruited you. How come you chose Alabama instead?

A: It wasn't because I disliked Georgia. I just instantly fell in love with Alabama. It was time for me to grow up and become and man and experience new things.

Q: Now you get your chance to show everyone you made the right decision, right?

A: When I signed with Alabama, Georgia had just won the SEC. But I told everyone that Bama was going to be back. I knew that even when coach [Mike] Shula was here. I told everyone we were going to be back on top and now we're headed that way.

That should endear him to a few Tide fans.

Dawg Sports has their Five Things up for the Tide, and thinks the Dawgs will take it 27-24.

The Tide Druid is getting a little jittery heading into the weekend, the Capstone Report is getting more and more confident, and the Church of Saban is offering up a prayer while Eight in the Box employs reverse psychology...or something.

Wilson is getting some praise from Coach Richt:

"You know, I hadn't really studied him that much, but I did watch him in that ballgame and he really handled himself extremely well," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "When bad things happened, he weathered the storm very well, and I think that's pretty important for a quarterback."

Burnt Orange Nation has selected the Alabama/Georgia game as their Non-Conference Game of the Week.

And finally, what you've all been waiting for; Your Friday McPhee.

You're welcome.

Uhhhh
So are you also on the pre-order list for "Wild Hogs"?!

You know that phrase that goes "Some things are better left unknown"?  Yeah, you may want to take note!  As if being a 'Bama blogger wasn't bad enough, you insist on degrading your soul.  Soon you'll be as bad as, well, a Florida fan!  And then, you go on and post McPhee...

...AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!

Wild Hogs?
Even I'm not that lame. And like you wouldn't own up to that Cyndi Lauper's Greatest Hits CD you listen to every morning to get ready for the day for a win over Florid...oops, too late.

Since.....
...this is such a big game, I feel like I should throw out some embarrassing admission since I haven't yet. At the same time though, I don't want to buck the streak we have going. I'll leave it up to y'all. Do I need to 'fess up or keep my trap shut?

I'm saving my big one

hi
this is my first post and one i think is very important.  While i admire the admittance of certain  things you wish to have kept secrect, i find that this admission and the admission from last weeks game were not that serious.  i am not asking for any bombshell controversy, but i feel that a more serious admittance might be in order for such an important game as this.  thank you

sure it worked
but it barely worked. even i do the phil collins thing...and i am not ashamed.  maybe admitting multiple things like: you cry every time you watch The Lake House with Keanu Reeves, and every time You've Got Mail is on you must stop whatever else you are doing and watch, or you are obsessed with Martha Stewart. Just trying to appease to football gods.

I've got one...
...that's pretty bad and I almost posted it, but I figured Todd owning up to owning that Vin Diesel movie was pretty bad. The one I'm going to drop LSU weekend might win us the national title.
