WE PAID $4 MILLION DOLLARS FOR MIKE PATRICK TO WORRY ABOUT BRITNEY SPEARS???!!?1111

I was at the game so I didn't hear this live, but it just made me happy that i was fortunate enough not to hear that during that stressful time.

I've heard Patrick call many Bama games over the years and always felt he did a good job. However, after his bizarre performance on Saturday night I can only conclude that he was on a massive dose of pain medication, or he was drunk. He said several unusual things during the game and at one point I remarked to my wife about his odd commentary. And this was before the Britney comment. He had Todd Blackledge stupefied on numerous occasions and I got the impression that Blackledge was trying to hold the broadcast together and carry Patrick. But he obviously didn't know what the hell Patrick was talking about during that consequential period of the game.

And, yeah, women's soccer. Who gives a flying rats ass. Nobody watching that game, that's for sure. Idiots.

That commentary was pretty much awkward all night. ESPN apparantly thinks that we get bored with football and need a rundown on local restaurants and a top 10 uniform list. I wouldn't mind normally, but there were a few times when it cut into the beginnings of plays.
