Kines to Texas A&M, Apparently

A number of commenters have pointed to articles stating that beloved former Tide DC Joe Kines will come out of retirement to take the same position with Texas A&M. Although it pains me to see him stalk a sideline in anything other than Crimson and White, I for one want to wish Coach Kines the best of luck in College Station. College football needs more salty characters like him.

The quest to stop the inside trout continues in Texas.

Kines was the strong link on

the old staff. I hope he does well unless they happen to be playing the TIDE.

I've read fans of other teams say that Alabama fans hate all ex-coaches...well, that's BS! I don't know anyone that didn't like Kines both personally and professionally.

A great Defenseive coach

He's a great coach because he teaches - his coverages, etc are not very complicated (unlike the near-quantum physics schemes that Saban and Steele run) but I would dare say one of the best at player development. I think this was a great pickup for A&M, I just hate we couldn't have found a spot for him on the coaching staff at UA
