SEC Tournament Bracket Announced

Just in case there is anybody left out there who remotely cares about basketball anymore, the SEC Tournament bracket has been officially announced by the league. Click here for the official website, or just browse the .png below:

As you can see, things will start off at noon on Thursday with South Carolina and LSU, and we'll play later that night against -- yikes! -- Florida. In the highly unlikely event that we will indeed knock off the Gators, we would play Mississippi State on Friday night.

Without pretending to be a basketball expert, considering we are currently 16-15, we probably need to win at least two, maybe even three, games to have a decent chance at making the NIT. And you all know what has to happen to make the Big Dance. Either way, don't be holding your breath.

I doubt...
...the Tide makes post season play this year. Normally I'd say "thank God I'm a UAB fan when it comes to basketball" but, well, damn it.

NIT
I really think if Tide beats UF, the falls to MSU, ends up 17-16 they have a shot at the NIT based on the name Alabama. Not a BB powerhouse, but still we do have some sort of a name in BB plus we do have a fan base of sorts. If we win 2 we are in NIT for sure.

But if we win 2 we might as well go all the way and win the whole thing. One thing Bama does have going for it in this tournament is that we play about 10 guys deep which means we could have enough in the tank to go 4 games in 4 days. Many previous Bama teams did not play that many guys and had a hard time going day after day.
