Alabama 71, Middle Tennessee State 62

The basketball team hasn't been on TV yet, so I can't really do much more than comment on the fact that they're winning. They beat Middle Tennessee state 71-62 this afternoon in the Virgin Islands at the Paradise Jam tournament to put the team at 2-0 for the season.

The team was without Jermareo Davidson, whose girlfriend was killed in a car accident last week (Davidson was also in the wreck, but wasn't hurt.)

Ronald Steele led the team with 20 points. Richard Hendrix finished with 16 and Alonzo Gee had 12.

Alabama faces Iowa on Saturday in the Paradise Jam. The Hawkeyes defeated Toledo today.

The Crimson Tide's first game on national TV is against Notre Dame in South Bend on December 7th.
