Thursday Night Links and Such

I went 6-1 in my SEC picks on the failure of Mississippi State.  I knew I'd regret taking them.  This weekend's picks in bold:

Alabama vs Mississippi State

Arkansas at South Carolina: Spurrier finally gets a scalp.

Auburn vs Arkansas State

Florida at Vandy

Georgia at Kentucky: I'm going with the upset here since the Wildcats have shown they can put up points and the Dawgs haven't been able to keep teams from doing so lately.

LSU at Tennessee:  I hate picking the Vols, but I don't see Les Miles redeeming himself this year.

Ole Miss vs Northwestern State:  Isn't State the Orgeron's alma mater?  I'm too lazy to look it up.

I said before that I'm hoping JP will get to take a breather against State but I'm afraid that won't be the case, and it looks like I was right.

Did any of you guys know about "The Curse of the Bear"?

I'm sure everyone knows by now that John L. Smith "resigned" as HC of Michigan State this week.  Don't worry about him, though:

Smith is in the fourth year of a six-year contract that pays him about $1.5 million annually. Michigan State said it will honor the last two years of Smith's contract, which will cost about $3.1 million.

Seriously, I'd love to get head coaching job somewhere and totally screw up just so I could "resign" early and sit on my $3.1 million butt for a while.  Do any of you guys know anyone at Miami?

Screw West Virginia and Louisville, there's a new Office on tonight!  Oh, who am I kidding, I'll be watching the 'eers and Cards just like the rest of you.  Once again I'm going with the home team, but I think I'll regret it.

And to keep the musical YouTubery theme going, here's Gov't Mule describing our O-Line:
