Genesis One, the school Verice Cloyd (an Alabama basketball signee) is graduating from has been given the okay by the NCAA...meaning it hasn't been determined to be a "diploma mill." There was the caveat though that Genesis One would be subject to review in the future.
Surprisingly silent on the matter though has been the University of Alabama. The school decided to not admit Cloyd to UA until Genesis One's status was cleared by the NCAA. Now that Genesis One has been given the green light by the NCAA, Alabama isn't saying much. Coach Mark Gottfried offered "no comment." AD Mal Moore said he had to speak with UA president Robert Witt. Alabama's compliance director referred journalists to the school's undergraduate admissions office.
Donald Jackson, Cloyd's attorney, has threatened legal action in the past if Cloyd isn't admitted.
Alabama's basketball program got a perfect 1000 Academic Progress Rating (APR) last year.
