In basketball news, Alabama will play Southern Miss in Mobile on December 16 as part of the University of South Alabama's "Coors Classic" doubleheader that will also feature a game between South Alabama and Ole Miss. I'm ready to see the entire basketball schedule.

The finishing touches are being put on the Bryant-Denny Stadium expansion and rennovation project.

The Blue Gray Sky has a great article showing the biggest winners and losers in the time between last season's final poll and this season's pre-season poll. Only Penn State was a bigger loser than Alabama in the offseason. BGS does good work and you'd do well to read their stuff on a regular basis.

It looks like Georgia is negotiating a three game series with Oregon State. Hooray for intersectional games!

I want to officially welcome Provo Pride to the growing family of SB Nation college blogs. Provo Pride covers BYU.

Clay's Bama Page has an email from a US troop in Afghanistan on the front page. The serviceman also included a photo of himself and some other Bama fans in Afghanistan. He talks about how Mike Shula sent them some autographed stuff and how much the Tide means to them. The stuff those guys are dealing with really puts our obsession with football in perspective. Get home safe guys and Roll Tide!

If you're a Bama fan living abroad (whether in the military or as a civilian), please email me at rollbamaroll@gmail.com as I'm looking to do a feature on Bama fans living abroad.

That should have you up to date for today. More news to come on Sunday.
