So the Major Applewhite frenzy continues:

Although Rice offensive coordinator Major Applewhite has acknowledged being contacted by Saban about the Tide's opening, reports indicate that LSU is also interested in him after Jimbo Fisher left for Florida State.

Also, Applewhite's father was the president of the Alabama Alumni Association.  Who knew?

So since the Applewhite rumors are starting to heat up, here are some quick stats concerning the Rice offense under his first (and only) year as OC:

Not sounding too impressive, so Saban must know something other than "he got Rice to it's first bowl in decades" if he really wants him at Alabama.
