......is the news that former Bama star DeMeco Ryans was chosen NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, taking 36 out of 50 votes.  The runner-up? Another former Bama star, Mark Anderson of the Chicago Bears.

Ryans had 9 games with 10+ tackles and none with lower than 6.  He finished the season with 3.5 sacks and 156 tackles for the Houston Texans.

Anderson led all rookies and finished in the top ten in sacks with 12 sacks.  Congratulations to both DeMeco and Mark on their great seasons.
