For Those of Us Wondering Where Lionel Mitchell Was Saturday...

...turns out he was in the doghouse:

Like other Alabama players, safety Rashad Johnson was surprised when cornerback Lionel Mitchell, a starter in four previous games, didn't play at all against Florida State.

There was a lesson learned.

"If you come out and you don't work during the week, then you're not going to play on Saturday," Johnson said. "People see that now, that they need to actually come out and work during the week so they'll play on Saturdays."

True freshman Kareem Jackson started ahead of Mitchell and replaced him on this week's depth chart. Mitchell was even passed by sophomore Marquis Johnson, who played most of the FSU game as Alabama's fifth defensive back in nickel packages.
