According to 40/29 News out of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Houston Nutt will not return in 2008 as the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Click here for the story on the station's web site.
The report had this to say:
Way back when I wrote "Hogwash," I speculated that I thought the season would likely end with Nutt losing his job, and that seems to have come to fruition. I'm not sure as to the validity of this report, but the point remains that everyone knows how fragile Nutt's situation in Arkansas is at the moment. And at this time, I'm not sure even finishing the season 8-4 with wins over Mississippi State and LSU could save him.
You have to imagine that Mississippi State and the Bayou Bengals are feeling good about going up against an Arkansas team that is apparently going to be led by a lame duck head coach.
