Robby Green Commits

The big recruiting news just keeps coming in. Just a few moments ago, Robby Green committed to the Crimson Tide at a press conference at John Curtis Christian High School in River Ridge, Louisiana. Green's commitment comes just four days after his Patriots won their fourth consecutive 2A state championship in the Superdome.

Green is a highly-touted cornerback prospect in the greater New Orleans area, unanimously considered one of the the top players in the state of Louisiana. At 6'0 and 170 pounds, Green was rated a four-star prospect by both major recruiting services. Scout.com rated him as the #13 cornerback prospect in the country, and Rivals rated him as the #16 cornerback prospect. He had a very impressive list of offers, including Alabama, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Penn State, USC, and others. Moreover, Green should have no problems qualifying academically.

You never want to put the cart before the horse, but it should reasonably be expected that Green will be significant amounts of playing time next season.

The news of Green's commitment only further bolsters what is undoubtedly the best recruiting class in ages at the Capstone. Scout.com currently has us in fourth in team recruiting rankings, and Rivals has us as third. And at this point, we're going to go out with a bang, as it is all but a given that we will pick up at least another three or four recruits rated as a four star, and it's likely that we will add Julio Jones, the number one player in the country, as well. Though it seems a bit unlikely we'll finish first in the country in recruiting rankings, it seems at this point that a top three finish is almost guaranteed.
