Your "Not Just a Football School" Update...

...courtesy the Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Track and Gymnastics teams.

The Basketball team is relegated to the "Not Just a Football School" category after being swept by Auburn for the first time since 1999.

The Softball team, however, is a perfect 16-0 after downing NC State 6-0 in the Crimson Classic championship game.

In Tennis related news, the Tide men continued their tear through the Ivy League, shutting out Columbia to improve to 7-1 after downing Princeton earlier in the week.

The Track and Field team returns from Lexington and the SEC Championships with one title and two ALL-SEC selections, all courtesy of freshman Emmanuel Bor:

Bor won the mile run in a photo finish in his first ever SEC Championships. He qualified in second place Saturday afternoon with a time of 4:05.74. In the finals today he turned in a time of 4:01.74 just one-one-hundredth of a second faster that Arkansas senior Adam Perkins.

The Gymnastics team defeated North Carolina 196.65 to 194.8 before a home crowd of more than 9,900 Friday night.  Two time Olympic silver medalist Terin Murphey wowed the crowd and judges, earning a perfect score from one, with an upgraded parallel bars routine that reflected toughening routines and displays of previously unseen skills from the gymnasts.

Hopefully tonight we'll have up a review of the past week's baseball action in the SEC.  The IT department is stuck on the HTML, but with a little effort, a lot of cursing and weeping, and some liquor they might get it all hammered out this evening and posted before most of the conference is back in action tomorrow.

That's the last time we hire a German kid to do all our coding.
