After defeating the Samford Bulldogs 8-1 in Birmingham, the third ranked Tide Softball Team (17-0) returns to Tuscaloosa to host the Easton Spring Fling. They will face the Seton Hall Pirates as well as the #11 Rajin' Cajuns of La.-Lafayette. The ladies are 0-2 against La.-Lafayette, so let's hope they fare a little better this time around.
The Baseball Team blew out the UAB Blazers 16-0 Wednesday. Congratulations to sophomore catcher Ryan Rhoden, who had a school record tying five hits, becoming the 22nd player in Tide history to log a five hit game. Teammate Emeel Salem also reached that accomplishment last year against the UAB Blazers.
Both the men's and women's tennis teams open conference play this weekend against Vandy and Kentucky. The men travel to Nasvhille today and Lexington on Sunday, while the women play host to both in Tuscaloosa.
Finally, the fourth ranked gymnastics team plays host to #8 LSU tonight at 7:30. LSU and Bama are pretty evenly matched, with LSU #2 on the vault and Alabama close behind in 3rd, and both teams ranking in the top ten on the floor exercise.
