The 'Canes had a disastrous season last year (their worst in a decade) that wound up costing head coach Larry Coker his job. It'll be interesting to see what the new management brings to Norman.
Oklahoma has done some impressive out of conference scheduling over the last several seasons: Oregon, UCLA, Alabama and now they take on the U. The Sooners should've finished last year's regular season at 12-1. If not for some horrible officiating in Eugene perhaps the Sooners' name would've been in the ring for teams that should have a crack at Ohio State in the title game. They wound up losing an epic battle with BCS-buster Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl and finished the season 11-3.
This is the kind of game that should happen more frequently in college football. It's great seeing legendary teams battle it out.
