Today's "Not Just a Football School" Update...

...courtesy the Gymnastics, Softball, Baseball, and Tennis teams.

The Tide Gymnasts posted their third 197 or better score this season with a 197.250 - 196.925 win over LSU Friday night.

It was a night of season and career highs for both teams. Alabama posted its best vault score of the season and second best balance beam score. LSU posted its season best scores on three of the four apparatus. Freshman Morgan Dennis won the all-around with a 39.500 while junior Terin Humphrey was third with a 39.475 and freshman Ricki Lebegern was fourth with a career high 39.450. Lebegern has been 39.350 or higher in the all-around each of the last four meets.

Freshman Ricki Lebegern was tops on the beam, where she scored an impressive 9.9.

Not so good news on the Tennis front:  After picking up their first conference win in Nashville, the No. 26 Tide Men's team fell to No. 38 Kentucky in Lexington.  Similarly, the Women's team fell 4-3 against the 'Cats in Tuscaloosa, while also losing 7-0 to the No. 17 Commodores.

The Tide Softball team had another stellar weekend, extending it's perfect season to 21-0 after downing both Seton Hall and #11 La.-Lafayette.  Senior Mandy Burford hit a walk-off three run homer in the bottom of the eighth Sunday to lead the Tide past the Ragin' Cajuns and keep the streak alive.

The Crimson Tide Baseball Team (12-2) hits the road today for the first time this season, as they head to Pearl, MS to face the No. 28 Golden Eagles of Southern Miss (10-2).  Am I the only one that misses seeing those plucky Golden Eagles on the football schedule every year?
